I've been getting alot of questions recently about building a moonlord etcetc.
I've answered a few here and there but I think it's better to consolidate all the infomation to one guide.
(which hopefully doesn't sink into the depths of the warrior section of the forum )
I don't know how to end my introduction so I'll use this face because I like it.
Note : This is a Hybrid-Moonlord build that I'm using right now. You don't have to follow it completely, this build does NOT give the maximum DPS output a Moonlord can do.. It fits my personal gameplay of the class that's all.
The dmg of this skill has definitely been boosted, viable skill for a Pure MATK build, but I don't really like the nature of this skill so, left it out of my build.
Level 6 for the extra slash.
Personal preference skill actually.. If I were to be practical I would allocate the SP from here to either Impact Wave or Circle Break.
Level 6 for the dmg boost.
One of the few super armour breaking skills in a Moonlord's skill pool. What's more? It's dmg is boosted in T4 and it has decent AOE.
The rest is pretty self-explanatory. Drop Kick is added because of personal preference. That's it for Warrior tree. Moving on....
Triple Slash, Deep Straight, Dash Slash/Combo, Hacking Stance
Good skills for moving around, or just to kill small mobs which are found lying around after you finished spamming your magic skills.
Maxed at 7 for maximum dmg output.
Although nerfed, it still does decent damage for a Hybrid-Moonlord if you land all the hits.
I tried this on Manticore hell, it's damage is not as fantastic as it used to be.
Moreover, this skill resets the cooldown of Great Wave, which I'm sure, will do more damage compared to Infinity Edge as long as you're building on your MATK.
Don't recommend getting this skill if you're going Moonlord.
The only reason why Moonlords/Gladiators are still viable in nests. Max it, it also helps alot when you're playing Solo.
The dmg and utility of this skill is too good to be ignored..
360 AOE, decent dmg, fast casting time, another one of the few armour breaking skills Moonlord have, although not as good as Circle Break / Half Moon Slash.
Chained with Rising Slash, or just to use as an extra iFrame.
Usable after Moon Blade Dance for extra air time.
Can be removed if you need extra SP and you don't know how to use this skill's iFrame.
Maxed at 15sec, can help save your life / reduce many near-death situations. Personal preference.
Didn't add the counter skills as they leave you vulnerable for a short while after using them. The damage of Counter Wave got nerf-ed too, not worth the 3SP IMHO.
Never hurts to have another AE. Can be removed if you need extra SP / not an avid PvPer.
Moonlight Splitter EX
Max. Nothing much to explain here.
Left at level1 for pre-req and a mob control skill.
No point adding SP into this skill as I feel the damage increase is not worth the SP.
Note : Level 6 has an increased AOE compared to Level 1 as pointed out by AikawaKazu and Butterzack.
Level6 to get the 5waves and damage boost.
Why not maxed? Because it's not often all 5 waves get to travel through the monster, casting time is kinda long too... Don't really like the nature of the skill, hence level6, only good at bosses like Apoc/Manti. This is a must max skill if you're going pure matk though.
Half Moon Slash
Maxed for maximum dmg output.
Good for clearing a whole bunch of mobs, or using it as a filler when fighting bosses.
Don't really know what to say for this skill but drool at it.
Not a useless ulti anymore since T4 came about to boost this skill !
Need it as a pre-req for Moon Blade Dance.
No idea what to say to you if you don't add this as a Moonlord.
That sums up everything for the Swordmaster tree. Moving on....
Moon Blade Dance
Moonlord's signature skill, main DPS skill.
And prolly the reason why somany people are drawn to playing the class
Added for fun. You can remove this.
Skill Heraldry Plates
Great Wave can be replaced if you don't run solo nests/dungeons often.
Half Moon Slash can be replaced with 20% dmg (adds alot too!)
Moon Blade Dance can be replaced with the other option CD. It works either way.
That's it for Skill build and skill plates.
