This guide will only help you decide on what you like, not actually give you the direct gears to get. Possible options will be placed, mix and match if you prefer to do so.

Note: if you guys find something not in conjunction with what is in game or you have something to add do say so.

Basic Information

To help in making you calculations more accurate I will place here all the possible information you might wanna know of as bases (str has other bonuses but crit damage is the only concern of sorcs):

Each Point of the following gives:
Intellect  = 0.75 matk, .8 mdef, 35 mp, 1.75 critical damage
Agility = 3.5 crit, 10.5 crit resist
Vitality = .6 defense, 30 hp, 2.5 stun resist
Strength = 1.75 critical damage

Base stats of all 3rd tier sorceresses at 80:
Str - 1130
Agi - 1153
Int - 2097
Vit - 1190

Skill Damage Calculation (made by Chaose5):

Skill Damage = (2+Crit Damage%) * Skill Coeff * (%Amp * M.att + Add. Dmg) * (1+% Elemental Att)* (1- % Elemental Resist) * (% Additional damage)

Terms:
2 : 2  the crit damage multiplier applied if critical happens, Crit Damage is applied only when a crit hit happens as well.
Skill Coefficient: usually 1 for most skills but there are skills with more than 1
%Amp: % of skill amplification in the skill description.
M.att: Your magic attack in stats window.
Add. Damage: Additional damage in the skill description.
% Elemental Att: Elemental Att % in your skill window.
% Elemental Resist: Elemental Resist % of the target. Positive number for resist, negative number for weakness.
% Additional Damage: Any additional damage due to other buff/debuff/skill plate/final damage etc.

Mechanics of Damage Boosting

Generally Critical is still the main priority and next will be either elem atk or matk. Elem atk is a stable booster and level caps has no effect on it. Matk is still the base and higher base will attribute to the multipliers pushing it further up the scale in damaging. Lastly is FD, even if it is a multiplier, this is also very expensive, also a route hard to achieve due to its rarity.

Critical Hit and Critical Damage

Still the best damage booster around, an instant x2 to your current damage. Critical bases itself with agi as stated above 3.5 crit points for every agi point and all the other bonuses from plates, gear and potentials, as well as buffs from other classes. You have to attain the crit cap for the 89% chance to dish a crit hit.
This will be lowered by crit resist as those having high crit resist will half your crit damage, kinda like returning it to non-crit state. Critical is also dependent on your character's level so if you are at lvl 80 for example you must attain the crit cap to dish the same crit frequency even to lower leveled monsters.

Critical Cap for 70 its 61200, 80 is 113640

For more detail about critical and crit resist read this link: http://forum.mmosite...743d5b13-1.html

Critical Damage goes in conjunction with critical hit as they are shown in the same stat window. Critical damage can now raise the the damage boost from x2~x3 depending on 2 stats, STR and INT. Each point of STR and INT gives 1.75 critical damage. The growth is linear so the net gain is the same with every increase. Although not implemented yet, Critical damage has a plate and talisman to help augment the outrageous values to reach cap

Critical Damage cap for 80 is 431970

For more detail about critical damage read this link : http://forum.cherryc...ith-sea-values/

Elemental Attack and Elemental Resist

This gives a constant boost of damage based on the summation of elemental attack of choice from gear bonuses and potentials and title, elemental attack has no cap, but restricted to 100% in the 2 raids DDN and BDN (needs confirmation). This of course is lowered by target's specific elemental resist but boosted further by either a specific elem resist reduction such as -ice resist or elem resist reduction in general. It is not affected by levels and restricted only to the element of choice, although general and specific elem resist can stack with each other to reach the cap of -100% elem resist.

Elemental Attack Buffs:

Fire
  • Arsonist Lv 8 = 30%
  • Elemental Aura Lv 5 = 30%
  • Shadow Call Lv 5 = 32%
  • Blessing of Light Lv 5 = 15%
Ice
  • Elemental Aura Lv 5= 30%
  • Blessing of Light Lv 5 = 15%
Dark
  • Sadism Pleasure Lv 8 = 28.5% (9.5% each cast max stack of 3)
  • Incantation of Dark Lv 4 = 25%
  • Bless of Anja Lv 6 = 28%
Light
  • Conviction Aura Lv 4 = 30%
  • Cure Relic = 5%
  • Bless of Anja Lv 6 = 14%
  • Blessing of Light Lv 5 = 20%
General Elemental Resistance Reduction Skills and Gear:

1. Screamer's Curse Debuff = - 5% each curse stack, max of 3 equivalent to -15% total.
2. Adept's C2H5OH = - 16% at lvl 6
3. Engineer's Biochemical Missile = -15% at all levels

Specific Elemental Resistance Reduction Skill and Gear:

Fire
- can compete with light as the best element for ecj
  • Inferno EX = - 20%
  • Phoenix Storm lv 11 = - 23%
  • Magma Punch EX = -10%
  • Blade Runner = - 15%
  • Soul Cutter = -20%
  • Welton Hallow Jade (Epic) = -5%
Ice
- Ice resist cannot stack (except the jade), only the skill with the highest level will overwrite.
  • Icy Shards, Frozen Spikes, Frost Wind, Chilling Mist, Freezing Field = -10%
  • Icing Mass Lv 11 = -30%
  • Ice Pump Tower = -30%
  • Pirate Jade (Epic) = -5%
Dark
  • Gravity Ascension EX = -20%
  • Applause EX = -7%
  • Punishment EX = -7%
  • Ghost Village Jade (Epic) = -5%
Light
- Light is quite complicated, there are certain rules of stacking light resist, which I don't know much about since its a concern of clerics. (the ones grouped together are the skill debuffs that cannot stack)
  • Charged bolt, Smite, Lightning Relic, Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning = -15%
  • Consecration = -20%
  • Lightning Relic EX = -15%
  • Mindbreaker EX = -30%
  • Lightning Zap = -15%
  • Heaven's Judgement = -33%
  • Electric Smite = -15%
  • Nova Jade (Epic) = -5%
Final Damage

This falls under the additional damage increase, it is dependent on the amount you currently have. The growth is non-linear  before you reach a certain point (which is usually almost 70% of the cap) the damage increase is quite low, but after you reach it, the growth becomes more significant. This is also limited to a cap damage boost of 100% per level cap quite similar with critical. However, the lower levels will still take into account their FD cap so you dont need max FD for the current cap to get full benefit for the lower levels. This is one expensive route as plates bearing FD as 3rd stat is extremely rare.

FD buffs: Sadism Pleasure Lv8 = 28.5% (9.5% per cast, 3x max stack), Injector EX = 50%

FD Caps: 70 = 2974, 80 = 4520

Magic Attack

This of course acts as a base and higher the better. Achieved from numerous sources, such as int stat, weapons, accessories, titles and costumes. Comes in 2 forms, base matk and % matk.

Gear Bases

This section suggests a base for you to build your char. mix and match is possible. I dont intend to make this very rigid, since the most optimum goal is to get all damage boosting stats as high as possible.

Basic Stuff

With the onset of the jade system, the supposedly suffix effects and stats increase have been separated, you can choose your suffix effect with the skill jades while choosing your preferred stats with the stat/oval jades, for all sorceresses we dont really need str, so we settle for the other 3 stat jades int, hp and agi. It is your call if you wanna slot everything with just hp and int jades, since that is fine, although you will lose a bit of crit. Stat jades have varying 3rd stats so choose according to your preference, you can either build a quite tanky sorceress or an all out damager.

Maxing out Elemental Attack

To get as much elem atk as possible without much compromise to base matk, this is a nice base for those who wont get or will only have little FD. since crit can be slightly achieved along with high elem atk.

Weapon skill jade: use the skill jades that reduces corresponding elem resist of choice.
Rings: skill rings that add 3.54% to the 4 elements plus a crit bonus, with elem atk of choice for jade, or previous brilliant rings that add 5.75% elem atk, with elem atk pot of choice or (old) unique and Legendary rank rings for both elem atk and matk pots. 8% each ring pot. You can also use unique and legend rings with elemental atk jade in slots.
Necklace and earrings: Majesty will use tough with dark atk and stat of choice, for fire and ice can use skill neck with fire and ice as stat
Titles: Overcoming Limits/Volcano Conqueror is the best so far for elemental users but if you dont have it, go for Dark - forest. Fire and Ice - Miracle or Looks like a Golem
Cash gear: Brilliant star rings for the added 2% elem atk each ring, or the Rare cash rings that give 2.5% elem atk each

You can get as much as 50% for fire or ice, approx 70% for Dark. Crit must be max or close to that in conjunction with this crit will be coming from either wind jades or wind necklace/earrings or plates with 3rd stat crit, anyway the skill rings also have crit bonus and elem atk bonuses.

Maxing Out Magic Attack and Critical

This base aims to reach high magic attack and close to high critical rate which is good for a neutral smasher.

Armor set: Meteor or Asteroid Sets, BDN L
Weapon skill jade:  Marian Jade to reduce magic defense
Rings: either fatal or magician rings, or lancea rings, or either unique or legendary (old item is better) set ring.
Necklace and Earrings: Intellect that contains agi as 2nd pot, or moon ear and neck, or skill ear or neck with int as main stat, or either unique or legendary set ear and neck.
Title: Any title with high matk and int, there are a lot actually.

Maxing Out Final Damage

This is definitely not a cheap route and can easily be attained with epic, any sorceress can benefit from this one if you have the cash for it.

Armor Set: Full Comet Lancea Set, BDN L set
Accessory Set: Full Crescent Moon accessory set, BDN L Set, Comet Lancea accessories
Plates: 80 epic Ultimate plate, and any 3rd stat FD plate, and FD talisman

This can fit with a high elemental attack build or magic atk build.

Piggy Build (Maxing out HP and Vit)

Inspired by chaose5 who usually has the highest hp and defense among the freedom mages and they call him a pig for that matter. Works for those who will concentrate on survival more than damage as crit may be close to ignored. Base matk and/or elementals will do, and FD is fully ignored. Focuses on hp and vit and all things def/mdef based.

Gear Set: either Meteor or Asteroid set, of BDN L and put the usual int and hp jade
Necklace and earring: Healthy ear and neck or any other accessory with high vit, def or hp, slotted with HP jades
Rings and Weapons: elemental or matk jades, and rings can go for anything that raises hp and vit, you still need to do some damage since we dont have that much support ability, but damage is not the main concern.

This builds makes your hp way above most sorceresses, enabling you to take more hits, making room for more mistakes in tough battles, but not exactly on tanking though.

Skill Accessories, to get or not to get?

Here is also one type of gear people would wanna include in their build. the stats of these are variable so whatever is good for one class may not suit the other, and also with classes having different builds.

some stuff to consider when going for these accessories:
  • you guys know its not easy crafting these, its more expensive than using normal epic accessories alone, plus the bonuses upon crafting are selected randomly, making it hard for you to get your desired bonus along with the +1 to your selected skill.
  • when choosing a skill to get a skill accessory on, you will consider these factors:
    • Damage capability - skills with high damage output are a must +1
    • Skills in levels 5,10 ,15 ,20 are good options too since they will get a big damage increase with the skill accessory... as skills get big increases in the skill amplification at levels 6,11,16,21.
    • Support, Disable and Passive Skills - well they can also be viable to add a skill accessory, damage boosting skills will definitely give overall increase to your output than just adding 1 level to a single damage skill, or if you want longer disabling times... Force Mirror, Arcane, Burning Hand are the best skills for this category (only a few so i listed it already)

Introduction to the Jade System

This will be the new system replacing the potential and suffix system with the onset of 70 cap, all gears obtained before this patch is released will be labeled as old and still will carry the suffix/potential system. all other gears obtained after that (except DDN unique and legendary) will be under the dragon Jade system.

To put it simply this is actually just gem slotting into gears. Currently these are the jade slots per equipment:

Armor: 2 hexagonal jade + 1 triangular jade
Weapon: 1 hexagonal jade + 1 elliptical jade + 1 triangular jade
Ring: 1 elliptical jade
Earring & Necklace: 1 hexagonal jade

Jade Shapes

Posted Image

Comma-shaped Jade: unknown
Elliptical Jade: Phy Atk, Mag Atk, Elemental Atk, Crit%, Elemental Converting Jade
Square Jade: unknown
Hexagonal Jade: INT, STR, AGI, HP, MP, Elemental Def, Crit resist, stun resist, para resist, etc
Triangular Jade: Skill Jade (Summary on 3rd post)

Well as you all know you cant equip 2 of the same jades in 1 slot (since armor can equip 2 hexagonal jade)

Trivia with the Dragon Jade System:
  • Jades give the same amount of stats no matter where you put them, in contrast to suffix and potential system wherein upper armors give the highest, and gloves give the lowest.
  • Jades have higher base stats over the suffix system
  • Jades solved the class discrimination with suffix system, if you guys have noticed with your other chars, they have higher suffix stats than sorceress. Since with the suffix system this is the trend with stats Cleric > Warrior > Academic > Kali > Archer > Sorceress. Yes sorceress has the lowest stat gains among all the classes, but the jade system balanced it to the acad and kali level, a soft nerf to cleric and warrior, but a huge boost to sorceress and archer.
  • Now that Skill effect and stats are separate, you have the freedom to choose your skill jades, your stat jades and whatnot so long as they fit into the slots given.
  • This system removes the possibility of 2 elemental attack, magic attack+elem atk, matk/patk+ crit, as you know there is only 1 slot for them in both weapons and rings.
  • There are many variations of other stats given by the jades, so pick your jade according to your build preference.
  • You can swap jades almost anytime, they will not be permanent once slotted. So you can change it for another one if you feel like it. You cannot add jades to sealed armor however nor change them when sealed.
  • Jades are also divided by Tier (Rare, Epic), and also by Grade (Low, intermediate, High). of course high grade jades give the best stats fr that tier, but will also be very expensive.
  • High Grade Jades need to be crafted however, which is why they are expensive, outcome is also random.
  • Disassembling gears with jades in them will be lost, and no compensation. Remove them before disassembling.
  • Skill Jade effects stack just like the suffix system. Same Skill Jades in armors will stack, same Skill Jades in weapons will stack, but not with other party members.

Maxing out Elemental Attack

to get as much elem atk as possible...  Saleana, Elestra and Majesty will benefit with this... this is a nice base for those who wont get or will only have little FD... since crit can be slightly achieved along with high elem atk...

Weapon suffixes : dual int... the elem resist works wonders to an elemental build...
Weapon potentials: either fire, ice or dark... or unique and legendary weapons with both elem atk and matk pots... 8% each weapon...
Rings: skill rings that add 3.54% to the 4 elements and a base crit of 1.2k, with elem atk of choice for potential... or unique and Legendary rank rings for both elem atk and matk pots... 8% each ring pot
Necklace and earrings: Majesty will use tough with dark atk and stat of choice... Elestra and Saleana will use the skill earring/necklace with fire and ice atk (not sure which has it, sorry someone confirm thanks)...
Titles: Gigantomakia is the best so far for elemental users... but if you dont have it... as this is hard to get for a lot of people... Dark - forest... Fire and Ice - Miracle or Looks like a Golem
Cash shop - Brilliant star rings for the added 2% elem atk each ring

You can get as much as 50% for fire and ice... 67% for Dark...

actually Majesty with that build can get both crit and dark-att ( but need some 3rd crit plate to get the crit cap like me (:]) )
And max dark-att on that build is 72% maybe you forgot to plus 5% from title

If I could go Fd + elem build?

2pcs ladder + 5 immortal + apo acce + ulti plate=924FD 45% additional damage if i'm not mistaken

then

pots on rings and weapon(elem attack)8*4 = 32% +  5%(title)= 38%

45% + 38% = 83% damage to element of choice

is this better than going pure elem???or should I go pure elem?

FD plate are so expensive (T.T)

Btw nice guide, (:])

Heyloo. I just want to bring something up regarding max FD build. You may want to replace/add the idea of removing 2 apoc accessory sets to just 1 or even none. I understand having 122+122 is the cheapest way to build FD, but seeing as FD is an expensive choice anyway, it should be done right.
Apocalypse accessories fall under the level 40 category, which means there is a huge difference in base stats when compared with level 50 ones. To top it off, by making skill accessories, not only will the gap in stats widen, there will be skills to consider that may be more effective than using Apoc ones (just to state an example, Force Mirror). There are EL-friendly stats too (vit based, ice+fire% on earrings, idk about neck).

very informative thread .. would appreciate if u can give me some advice ... currently im a 50 smasher .. i like to know which is a better set , 5 immortal 2 ladder or 5 totem 2 immortal ? considering I am not getting FD apoc accessories set and lv 50 fd plates as I find it too expensive as I am just a casual player ..

will the FD from the 5 immortal 2 ladder set ( 510 FD + 1k crit ) outweigh 405 MA from 5 tot 2 immortal set ?

which is a better & cheaper option ? maxing magic attack & crit or leaving FD at around 754 FD ?

(clap) for Smasher with focus on Matk and crit alone. Not much of a fan of FD. It's hard to reach the crit cap though. Any tips on how to reach the crit cap? I'm having a hard time raising my critical stats.  (sorry) Most of my equips already have agi pots but I'm still stuck at 10k crit.

You should check with level 50 tough accessories. 12% on necklace and 10% on earrings.
Here, searched TH a while ago for some proof:
