after seeing black mara and knowing that she's able to switch from close range to long range, how a bout a bard class using a violin? the bow could be used as a rapier for melee physical attacks and the violin could be for ranged magic attacks

and make it a cool looking male class...to many females now :)

job advancement could be similar to lancea or warriors having a close range physical damage and long range magical damage

but of course will have the best buffs/debuffs in the game cause we all know what bards do xD

just a suggestion tho :)

A nice suggestion for me!
Weapon Violin and sub weapon The stick of the violin.
Can use Piano,Guitar,flute or any kind of instruments!
That can buff,debuff,healer(dancing)and pure DPS!
I will spend 10,000php  to make me bard stronger than anyone(sorry for the English)

Its funny when people ask for a new class then complain later on after its release. Either they dont liek the class or the class i OP or whatever blah blah

since he uses fencing and plays the violin...why not make him a relative to someone from the royal castle? let's say he's someone's nephew or something and now he travels from someplace to get to saint haven to see his relative...hence the starting town

Dont think this class will be valuable in pvp though, i mean, nowadays class are very dispersed and some class lack identity (lancea for example in the past, are the class that rarely used because it was basically warrior class with windwalker skills,after some patch it become clear lancea have specialization with skill that multiply dmg several times, pure dps skill), machina are pure melee class with tanking capability and great combo, but become dying class in unmerciful group pvp (need some fixes with this class skills so this one valuable in group pvp)

if we use high dps and high agility,low hp value. we have assasin in pvp that (maybe) have smiliar skills with above mentioned bard class.
so assume this class will be relased and planned, what kind of skill it's specialize are more important for both pvp and pve situation, not only cool looking class with different weapons.

like i said, the class will use a violin and a bow (the stick)...the bow will act like a rapier and we all know rapiers are mostly used for fencing

DN kinda has a pattern in making classes...they always have a pvp and pve counterpart (i.e.: ripper is good for pvp and raven is good for pve)...although the other can do good or maybe better than its counterpart the main idea is they are created for that purpose (also the awakening skills pretty much removes the option in going hybrid which means you're basically going to play using a pure build)

anyways back to the topic, this bard guy should have, like warriors and lanceas, a physical PVP class and a magical pve class...a more rapier focused class and a more violin focused class...havent thought of skills yet but i think its pretty interesting to see something like this...i personally like the violin-rapier idea xD

pvp-wise...since fencing is pretty much a 1v1 sport maybe he could be a duelist or something (think fiora from LoL) probably gonna have some similar skills too...after all DN does have a few similar skills with LoL champs (i.e. Lancea's Flag and Assassin's Rake)

true, that passive pretty much defined a flurry...well as far as fencing goes maybe this class could be more reaction focused (like having many blocks and iframes as well as counter attacks and stuff)...y'know make it kinda like a real fencer where reaction and timing is important...this could be a class that tests the player's reaction speed and observation and all...still havent thought about skills tho (too busy at work)

i think this class specialization can revolve around mana drain & block. nest wise, this class can prevent nest boss cast skill (skill that was very dangerous), guardian prevent friendly getting hit, this one prevent boss casting skills (about mechanic let devs think about that). low hp (high hp make this class compete with guardian). pvp wise, this one revolve around para lock skill, and silence skill, while constantly drain enemy mp point. this kind of specialization make this class simpler, and completely new.
(some skill that revolve around buff attack, give that to machina,not this class)

pvp-wise the paralyze stat is quite common to warriors, the idea is his playstyle would be a lot similar to fencing (waiting for the right time to block and strike) and since the stun stat isn't quite common maybe this class could be the one that specializes on stunning...like you said this class could keep the boss from attacking...let's say the Fencer branch of this class would have a playstyle where you would stun the target after a successful block (like the counter attack from parrying stance, except that it would work on bosses) then you could launch a barrage of attacks on the target...which means the class could have skills that can be used on stunned targets (every basic class has one, ex. acro's somersault kick)

i've actually read that before and i pretty much like the idea (especially the Knights) but DN already has a Fighter and Footman class (Lancea and Machina) with Machina being their "hand-to-hand" specialist...basically the common thing about their class designs is that they focus on aesthetics...the Main Weapons are ALWAYS noticeable, and for this guy's Fighter class, DN basically just gave it a large hand and used one of it's existing races to match the theme

for the Bard tho...considering the aesthetic part of DN's character designs...i was trying to find a weapon that is different from other bards from different MMOs but still be identifiable (cause nobody would probably want a small flute (shame) S> Legend Ice Dragon Flute (:D) )

as for the secondary weapon from warrior to assassin they pretty much match the secondary weapon to the main weapon (ex. Sword and Gauntlet, Bow and Quiver, Shield and Mace, etc) with the exception of Kali and Academic (i literally dont understand the connection of charms and fans or threaded-loops and cannons (tense) ) the trend stops with Lancea tho (come on...bracelet? Machina's claw would be acceptable but a bracelet?) so i thought a musical weapon with something to pair with can be used as a Bard's weapon (Guitar and Pick, Drum and Drumsticks, Violin and Bow) which gave me the idea of having the Violin and Bow as a Bard's possible weapon of choice since the bow itself can be used as a hitting tool given its size

well here are my thoughts on this class...i have the same idea as the Switch skill he mentioned but instead of "cycling" it simply "toggles" or "switches" from ranged form and melee form...much like Black Mara's gameplay (:])

PS: gonna try to make skills for this kind of class...and if i feel like it might "try" to make a character model or sketch or something (;])

One more factor i considered is who the character would be. Lore-wise every class had its origin and identity...it just became too complicated since the Academic came. Then i thought "maybe it's time to go back to being simple?" i mean i did say that this Bard can be someone's relative and since he uses a violin and a rapier he could possibly become connected to the Royal Castle (since he is "majestic") or maybe the Theme Park (as an entertainer of some sorts) or could be both.

i just realized that this guy would have 2 main weapons (shame) so my idea is this, let this guy have a toggle-able skill much like erratic power of Lancea...and i mean the old version wherein it has buffs AND nerfs on certain conditions... let's say if you toggle it on then your physical attack would increase but your magical attack would decrease and vice versa (:])

still kinda working on some of the skills and backstory and how it would fit the DN lore (:D) and hopefully it gets real lol
