hi i cant start the game.
I always get the same error message: Client data is error. Please reinstall Game Client

I reinstalled the game, i downloaded it twice, i tried with steam and i always get the same error.
Running as admin or compability mode does not work.

How can i fix this?

When uninstalling the game, make sure all data is removed from your disk (such as SDGi Europe folder under Program Files) and restarting your computer before re-installing.

If you've tried the Steam client and that doesn't work out, you could alternatively try downloading the regular client from the official download page. Make sure you have rights to install the game and apply administrative rights to both the launcher (dnlauncher.exe) and the game client (DragonNest.exe). You may also want to try adding compatibility mode depending on which version of Windows you're running:
  • Right click the application
  • Select properties
  • Compatibility tab
  • Compatibility mode: Windows XP/7/8
  • Apply and exit by pressing OK.
Also please make sure your system is fully up to date on things like Windows Updates.

yes im german.

So i found a way i can play the game:|
1. downloaded Client v174 and installed it.
2. start patching. It patches to v190 not v194
3. Change internet connection (I now use mobile)
PS: I read that somehow my internet provider is at fault why it just patches to v190
4. restart launcher and let it update to v194
5. hit play.

BUT! I can play just once. If i close the game i have to start that whole process again because i get the same error.
So something bad is happening between v190 and v194 for me. Is there a fix?

PS: I did try to start the game with my mobile phones internet, but i get the same error. So i dont think my WLAN is at fault.

I'll assume your internet provider is Vodafone/Kabel Deutschland. The issue is very common, lot of people dealing with it, but CC doesn't give a fish.

The issue is that basically your client doesn't reach the patch server, but only your internet providers cache, which has outdated files.

You already found the workaround, that I and a few others have to use on a daily basis.

"Client data is error" - Workaround:
1. Use your mobile phone to create a hotspot
2. Cut your normal connection and connect to the hotspot
3. Run the launcher
4. Disconnect from the hotspot and pick up your normal connection again
5. Start the game in the launcher


Another thing that you can try, is changing your DNS server to Google DNS. This has worked for some, even if only temporarily.
Assuming you are running Windows 10, here is a German guide on how to do that: Click me

Played the game since 40cap and wanted to come back after a long break but I guess this won't happen anymore.. (shame)

If someone has another hint or solution, would be great to hear about that.

Not even the mobile hotspot one? That one should work 100% as you enter via a different internet cache.

No unfortunately that doesn't work either. Changing the DNS Server worked 3-4 times and then the same problem again. Annoying...

Nope o2, thats why I don't understand it.

Interesting. Someone else mentioned having the issue with o2 before, but it was a single incident, so I thought it was something else.

And about plans to fix it in the future... I don't know. CC has never commented on any of these threads and I've been dealing with the problem myself for 8 months now.

My badluck I guess.. (shame)  Well, hope they care about this soon since we are not the only ones it seems.
