as the title says.. i was just playing then i got disconnected.. so i tried to restart the client.. then that happened.. i tried troubleshooting based from the other thread here.. but it doesnt seem to work.

also i seem to have a different version of internet explorer.. and i cant find the "work offline" command.

Try restarting your PC/Laptop. If it still persists then maybe try waiting for a few minutes to open it again. This happens to me often and I generally play some other games for a few minutes then open DN again.

yes this has happened to me also before.. and i did the same thing you did.. just wait a few minutes then launch it again.. and it worked before.. but now its been like 4 hrs already.. and it still doesnt work. Unable to load patch config. then launcher initialization failed. (T.T)

It seems like it's an internet connection problem. Try to check your connection if there's anything that's slowing you down or periodically spikes your ping. For me it's usually the later 'cause I don't solo my internet here and someone is either watching something at 1080p 60fps or updating their phone apps (shame). I usually block or slow down their connections using my router's system interface.

Got the same problem here i have tried searching for answers and still nothing happens
my friend said that probably the IP add where i am playing is blocked .

if that's true why would you do that so ?

Well. Fudge. I hope others have some more input about your situation because as far as my experience goes, the "Launcher Initialization Failed" error happens to me when someone is slowing down my connection or causing it to have spike every now and then. I could only speculate that it's either you are having trouble connecting to the server or it has something to do with your ISP. Either way, and again, hope that you find some more inputs from other forum posts you haven't been to yet.

Error E:5 means the game is under maintenance, try today and if you still get that message please see this list of solutions for E:5

seriously this is getting annoying.. im pretty sure the problem isnt with me or my ISP.. because this happened while I WAS PLAYING.. i got dc'ed.. then i started getting errors.. im pretty sure also that i didnt lose net at that time.. because whenever i get dc or crash from the game.. i always refresh fb on my browser..

so WTH...

Forgot the last resort. Try re-installing your game. Wait after tomorrow's maintenance first and double check if you've missed anything that should've fixed your game (i.e. firewall, anti-virus, work offline thing etc. or basically the info below). If that doesn't fix it then re-install the game and redo these:

E:5
  • Dragon Nest SEA may be down for maintenance. Please check the Dragon Nest SEA official website for the latest news and announcements.
  • Ensure you are connected to the Internet and not working offline.

    Step 1: Launch Internet Explorer.
    Step 2: Click on "Tools" at the top right menu.
    Step 3: The "Work Offline" option should not be checked.
  • Is your anti-virus program or firewall settings blocking Dragon Nest SEA from accessing the Internet? Add Dragon Nest SEA client files (dnlauncher.exe and dragonnest.exe) onto your firewall exceptions list.
  • Ensure you have administrative rights on your personal computer. Launch dnlauncher.exe as a Windows Administrator (right click on dnlauncher.exe and click on "Run as Administrator").
  • Use a wired Internet connection to connect to Dragon Nest SEA, as wireless connections tend to be unstable due to varied reception coverage.

well actually i've tried something and it worked
so i installed vpn to the pc and used alternate ip address
i did log on for a while but you can't play it's so lag

i just wish the maintenance tomorrow will sort everything out.. (sob) (sob) (sob) (sob)

still none.. i've reinstalled the game.. redownloaded.. and reinstalled again.. rebooted my router COUNTLESS TIMES.. i even tried turning off my firewall and anti virus.. but it still doesnt work. (mad) (mad) (mad) (mad)

In my case, I was playing yesterday morning, then I stopped playing for an hour. Then, when I was about to play again, the error happened. I've tried the solutions above, but nothing worked. I even asked other players if DN is down, then they said nope.

So I tried to switch connections. My original connection is PLDT, but when I changed my connection to Globe, I can access the patcher.

I also tried to run the patcher in my other PCs, (windows 10 and windows 7), but it's not working also. So I assume it's not OS problem.

Until now, I still cannot fix the problem. This morning, I reinstalled the game, but the problem now is "Update failed". It's really weird...

If toggling Work Offline did nothing, try going to the LAN options menu and uncheck everything except "Automatically Detect Settings".

Would be helpful if you tell me what OS and IE version you have because of menu differences.

i hope this gets fixed soon.. i managed to have a temp fix though. i used a vpn program.. but then again.. the game itself is laggy already.. and vpn just makes it worse..

i also tried with a different connection (same ISP, same laptop) in our other house.. and the patcher worked fine.. im not a computer techie so i hope someone can figure out whats happening here.. a friend of mine told me that the server might have blocked my IP address? but then again.. i dont know a lot about computers so i dont really understand what he said completely..
